About
Troy Middle School opened its doors to the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students in District 30-C in the fall of 2001. Troy Middle School was previously located at what is now Troy Cronin School. In the fall of 2006, the 6th graders were moved to the newly opened W.B. Orenic Intermediate School, and the “Campus” was born. TMS currently houses nearly 1,000 seventh and eighth grade students and just over 100 full-time staff members, as well as the Troy CCSD 30-C District Offices. Students at TMS are placed in appropriate academically challenging core classes. Students can also take classes such as Art, Band, Choir, Drama, Physical Education, Consumer Technology (Con-Tech), Science Capstone (SciCap), and Spanish to round out their education. TMS prides itself on not only its academic excellence but building relationships within our school community that are respectful, responsible, peaceful, and kind. TMS offers a wide variety of after-school programs that include academic clubs, such as computers, science, chess, and Scholastic Bowl, just to name a few. Each year, TMS performs a musical and play. TMS is a member of the IESA (Illinois Elementary School Association) and has an extensive interscholastic athletic program. TMS, as a member of the IGSMA (Illinois Grade School Music Association) hosts and participates in competitions for the bands and choirs of this organization each spring. After graduation, our students attend Joliet West High School or Minooka Community High School. Some of our students enroll in Joliet Catholic Academy or Providence Catholic High School as a private high school option. The students, staff, and administration of Troy Middle School welcome you to the Troy District. Go Troy!
